Leap (Learning, Employability and Progress) skills academy, founded in 2013, is a start-up that is done by a group of people after three years of field-based research aimed at identifying gaps in the skill development market. They observed that student aspirations are frequently mismatched with the employment generation industry – and skills development linkages are tenuous. Students often leave their degree colleges without the skills training needed for their first job.

Purpose

The purpose of Leap skills academy is to help, motivate the students in career aspirations. They believe that imparting the experience is the best way learn. Main aim is to bridge the gap between academia and industry. To achieve this purpose they started collaborating with the schools and industries.

LEAP aims to create an environment of equal opportunity for India’s youth. In a world where geography and circumstance often determine our access to opportunity, leap wants every student to get a chance to realize their full potential. They aim to do this by providing mentoring, skilling and employment opportunities to learners.

Distinct Differences From Other Offerings

The main difference of the Leap skills is the uniqueness in their vision and their constant efforts to follow the vision. Leap mainly concentrates to support the students in development of their skills and learning from practical experience.

Next important distinct thing is that leap provides variety of programs that are necessary by the students. LEAP has successfully implemented a variety of programs for students across different colleges, including undergraduate, engineering, mathematics, and polytechnic institutions and achieved a 99% success rate for placements. LEAP also works with already-employed individuals to take their careers to the next level.

The most important difference of Leap from other offerings is their classrooms. They reject traditional lecture-style classrooms in favour of an innovative and interactive model. Leap classrooms are collaborative in nature. they use innovative and interactive learning methods to deliver high quality course content and have a strong commitment to excellence, inclusivity and uncompromising integrity.

Impact Achieved For Students and Campus

In the five years since LEAP was set up in 2013, they have worked with over 5000 students across five states - Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. In these years leap worked with sharp focus on demographic and quality of the programs.

Now a days every student is lacking in the communication skills and is being low confident. Every student needs a lots of guidance in terms of career options that are outer and the options that they have and they need to understand what employers need. Through the programs leap mentors, trains and provides placement opportunities to the students who are looking for employment.

Leap is bringing placements to the campus and providing employment opportunities for each and every student in the campus.
