Sagi Rama Krishnam Raju Engineering College(SRKREC) is a Co-educational,Autonomous and a self-Financed Engineering college. It is one of the Oldest Seminaries formed in 1980's by S.R.K.R.Engineering College Association to provide a better quality technical education to students. President Sri. S. Prasada Raju is carrying forward the vision of his father Late Sri Sagi Rama Krishnam Raju guiding the society on its path of excellence. The college is located with a scenic beauty in a 30 acres plot in Chinna Amiram on Bhimavaram-Vijayawada state highway, It was well connected with rail , road, and air transport that is well known as "Second Bardoli" and is famous for "Pancharamas"(somaramam).

The college has a cluster of beautiful and spacious buildings and spacious buildings with state of art laboratories,class rooms,Seminar halls and play grounds. Eco-friendly environment is developed in the campus with lot of greenery, landscape lawns and gardens. S.R.K.R.E.C. was established with a mission to develop the college into a centre of Excellence in the field of Technical Education, Capable of Training students as sound professionals to carter to the needs of the society in the fields of production and service sectors.The college holds 1st rank in the best colleges of Andhra Pradesh category.Recently, the college is Ranked as 73 in the TOP100 Engineering Colleges in India including IIT's and NIT's by Ministry of Human Resources Department,Govt. of India.S.R.K.R. Engineering College was established with a mission to develop the college into a centre of Excellence in the field of Technical Education, capable of training students as sound professionals to cater to the needs of the society in the fields of production and service sectors.

Secured the status of 2(f) and 12(B) of UGC Act in 1988.
Celebrated the Silver Jubilee during October, 6th and 7th in 2005.
Offers6 UG Courses, 7 PG Courses and 5 Ph.D. Programmes.
Departments of Civil, ECE, EEE, IT & Mech. were recognized as research centers by affiliating university.
Was Accredited Thrice by National Board of Accredation (NBA).
Centres of Excellence namely Water and Environment Technology (WET) research Centre and Geospatial Information Centre (GIC) are established.
Students activities were recorded in LIMCA Book of Records, Wonder Book of Records and Unique World Records four times
Alumni have occupied very high positions at national and international level.

Student Entrepreneurship

Perhaps the biggest strenght of the college is the support and Encouragement of management for upcoming entreprenuers. SRKREC encourages and promotes the students to think innovatively and develop their entrepreneurship skills in different ways. The management regularly inspires its students by conducting summits on career-guidance,innovation,entreprenuership,etc., It also have departmental organisations like IETE,ACE,AME,IE,CSI,AEE which emphasizes on improving the technical skills of its students which inturn evokes the entreprenurial insights of the students.These organisations helps the students to prototype their ideas which will be later sent to the Technology and Innovation centre of the college. The Tech centre is the base for all the entreprenurial and innovation activities of the college. Students who have ideas or prototypes will be using the tech centre to develop their product and pitch it to Investors for Funding. In the recent years , SRKREC have produced some top class scientists and entreprenuers with their support and encouragement. Many students have got patents for their prototypes and went on to become succesful entreprenuers.

Collaboration between Colleges and industries is critical for skills development (education and training), and for the promotion of entrepreneurship (start-ups and spin-offs). To get the students ready with industry experience College adapt some measures to give hands on experience by Campus Recruitment Training(CRT).
