Michael Brummett is a University Innovation Fellow Candidate from the 2015 cohort. As a sophomore at Rockhurst University, in Kansas City, Missouri, he is majoring in Business Communication and Computer Engineering with a minor in Leadership Studies. Having been raised in the Kansas City Metropolitan area, he is passionate about bettering his community in any way he can. The most natural description of himself would be that of an expressive introvert- one who loves and enjoys great success in public speaking, but that inversely values time spent in contemplation.
Very early on into his career at Rockhurst University, Michael has sought to change many aspects of the educational atmosphere as well as the student body. Having been the founder and President of organizations on campus, he looks to leave a lasting impact on his classroom, campus and community.
In his free time, Michael loves to build computers and explore new technologies, speak publically and attend events on campus as well as developing meaningful relationships with his friends. For the future, he aspires to be the liaison between the administration and more technical departments for a business, and in his free time to give back to his community and serve on the city council.
"The truth is rarely pure, and never simple."
