CAMPUS OVERVIEW

The R.V.R. & J.C. College of Engineering, Chowdavaram, Guntur trains undergraduate and postgraduate students in Engineering and Management for award of degree from Acharya Nagarjuna University.

Established by the renowned Nagarjuna Education Society (1967) in the year 1985, the College drew its initial impetus from Peoples Representatives, local doctors, charitable trusts and commercial houses of Guntur District,Andhra Pradesh.  Today, it enjoys flagship status among the eight constituent institutions, that are governed by Nagarjuna Education Society.  The founder-members of Nagarjuna Education Society and their successors have provided abundant inputs to turn a mere 3-course-180-intake College into a 14-course-1200-intake edifice by the Silver Jubilee Year.

Training the students beyond the defined borders of the curriculum is a basic emphasis, the college dearly practices.  The College practices the modesty of looking for new starting lines than be content with the finishing lines reached.  The Mission Statement proposed by our Management and staff accommodates the new paradigm – “Education for total transformation” with a commitment for excellence in all that we do.  The keywords “professional knowledge and skills”, “honourable living” and “social and economic contribution” speak of the strategy of the college in training people. We admit, we have miles and miles to go before we complete our mission.

PROMOTING STUDENT ENTREPRENEURSHIP

The culture of our institution is a shared system of values, beliefs and attitudes that shapes and enhances our behaviour. The primary focus is not only to educate the students but to inspire them to become innovative and contribute to the society.

Our institution has Entrepreneurship Management Development Cell (EMDC) which was set-up with the assistance of A.I.C.T.E., New Delhi, to promote and educate young students to take the benefit of the policies of the government by establishing their own ventures. The cell organizes different activities and events to inculcate Entrepreneurial Spirit among the Science & Technology students.Faculty that are a part of the EMD cell are very student friendly and always try to meet the demands of the student.

An Entreprenuership club(E-Club) is started in the college. It is a student initiated club that helps to promote the avaliable oppurtunities and bring out student ideas by conducting various competitions like design thinking workshop,BIG idea challenge etc.This even provides guidance for establishing their own ventures.

A new venture cell (20,000 sq.ft) is being constructed in the college to provide students all the facilities that are needed for developing and testing their ideas. 

The mission is to promote entrepreneurship-led innovation, thereby creating "nation of entrepreneurs" driven by creativity, initiative, risk taking, discipline, and personal development.

FACULTY INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP

The faculty inspire us and direct all we do academically and deliver the administrative services. They enhance the students to move on the innovation path.  A Committee of Research and Development  (R & D) Cell was formed on 7 June 2012  to motivate and provide necessary guidance to all the faculty members. It is organised by certain selected faculty members of our institution. It motivates faculty to pursue their research activities and helps to publish the research papers in reputed Peer Reviewed Journals of at least 10 years standing. The committee of Research and Development meets regularly to review the progress of its activities in the college.It also provides oppurtunities for students and faculty to collaboratively work together on the research activities.

UNIVERSITY TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER FUNCTION

Our institution has Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) which helps in funding for students and faculty to accomplish their projects. We also have a TechClub on our campus where students can express their innovative ideas and exhibit their technical skills.

ENGAGING WITH REGIONAL  AND LOCAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

We have Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) and two other programs working effectively towards the growth of our institution funds. These programs are meant to create awareness on the current issues and thereby attract the funding from the alumni, through which University will have their technology, equipment needed gets updated.
