There are many factors which contributed to the success of launching a new Design Institute at the University of California, Berkeley. While this is a high bar to set for students, the story of Jared Karp, Adam Eastman and their colleagues setting into motion a stream of events that led to the $20 million gift from Qualcomm Founder, Paul Jacobs, is one from which we can all learn.
