1.Need

The need identified in this “How To” is to engage first year students in design thinking. A popular topic in the UIF exploration of higher education is the incorporation of design thinking; which when incorporated into curriculum is highly beneficial.

Through this article we discuss how to engage first year students in design thinking with advice from current fellow, Krusha Shah. She is from Bartlett, IL (northwest suburb of Chicago) and attends Saint Louis University. She also helps students through the challenges of their first year study with study tips, creating assignments. In other words, she did her best to help them figure engineering out and ensure that this is the correct area of study for them.
