Currently a junior at Beloit College, Ellery Addington-White is currently a Junior at Beloit College and the Student Director student director of the Center for Entrepreneurship in Liberal Education at Beloit College ([http://http://www.beloit.edu/celeb/ CELEB]). While He has tried to play an active role in the campus community while working towards his B.S. in Computer Science Ellery has maintained an active role on campus trying to get and taking full advantage of the most out of a rich liberal arts educationenvironment at Beloit. An avid Graphicgraphic/Web Designer web designer and Musician this vision for him includes tying musician, Ellery has worked to bring together both the arts and the sciences in all his curricular and taking full advantage of extracurricular activities. In the process, he’s drawn everything he could from the wide range of talents and skills available at present within the Beloit Collegecommunity. He has also been strongly engaged as a strong proponent of for social entrepreneurship , working on such projects like as professor Rama Viswanathan's Ph.D. [http://www.beloit.edu/news/sources/?story_id=349543 "Wallputer".] An - an inexpensive solar-powered computer with dedicated client software that can also could serve as an a digital information kiosk, announcement display, or message board designed and multimedia platform for communities in developing countries. Ellery also spent this last summer exploring the tech entrepreneurship scene in Chicago , while working for Chicago Mayor Rahm EmmanuelEmanuel. Where he He helped the Mayor’s office research start-ups in Chicago , and facilitate facilitated events like [http://techweek.com/chicago/ Tech-Week] in Chicago's tech-entreprenuership entrepreneurship hub ,[http://www.1871.com/ 1871]. Ellery's main goal as a UI Fellow would be to focus and bring together the copious talents and resources available at Beloit College. He believes these assets in combination with the strategic location of Beloit College, between the established and rapidly growing entrepreneurship communities in Chicago, Milwaukee and Madison, represent a real opportunity for the college, its students, faculty and alumni, as well as for the Beloit community at large. He hopes to help make a lasting and sustainable contribution to both the local community and, together with the other UI Fellows, create an impact regionally and beyond.
Ellery's main goals as a UI Fellow are to bring together the large amounts of talent and recourses available at Beloit College. He believes with these assets, and the strategic location of Beloit College from established entrepreneurship communities, he will be able to make a lasting and sustainable change that will be seen in both the local community and the greater Midwest. Together with the other UI Fellows he hopes to see this change have a lasting effect nationally and ultimately internationally.
