She had the opportunity of applying her knowledge in different industries such as insurance, banking and plastics. Since she is always looking for learning new things she has been involved on undergraduates researches about educational videogames and entrepreneurial mindset. She realized that she wants to contribute to the development of her country and the improvement of education through technology. She created the Solidarity Scholarship that aims to help students from disadvantaged communities, like her community. Jahannie Torres is a fourth year student at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus. She is pursuing a bachelor's degree in
Computer Engineering with focus on software and a minor in Business Development. She was born and raised on Puerto Rico.

Jahannie is part of other associations that are part of the innovation and entrepreneurship network in the campus. She encourages and motivates underrepresented communities to keep studying and pursue STEM careers.
If she is not working, programming or studying she enjoys of internal tourism, sports, learning new things and helping others.
