He previously served as a research assistant at the Neuroscience Institute at Georgia State University, as well as at the UGA Institute of Higher Education where he worked on an NSF-funded Science of Science & Innovation Policy grant studying the networks of university trustees of AAU institutions and their relationships to private firms. He contributed several articles for an upcoming textbook on stem cell technologies focusing on regenerative medicine. Shalin developed a better understanding of the university’s role in driving economic development when he interned with the Commission on Innovation, Competitiveness and Economic Prosperity(CICEP) at the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities(APLU) and through his current internships with the UGA Technology Commercialization Office and the Athens-Clarke County Office of Economic Development. Shalin Jyotishi is a senior at the University of Georgia where his research and professional interests center around technology-led economic development and science, technology & innovation policy. Shalin developed his interest while serving as a research assistant at the UGA Institute of Higher Education where he worked on an NSF-funded Science of Science & Innovation Policy grant studying the role of university trustee in university-industry interfaces.
