The town of Elon and the surrounding area were hit hard when the Research Triangletextile companies left. Our Student Professional Development Center works Over the next 20 years our university has major priorities to connect students with businesses in both of these help build up the areas. We also have large job around Elon and internship fairs create an environment that will bring in startups more business and large companies like Deloitte attract students and Oraclefaculty. These programs We have also invested in offices in downtown Burlington and Greensboro that are very common among most schools specifically geared toward community engagement, innovation, and we entrepreneurship. These efforts are currently working to expand them. Because only possible with the support of the many other schools entire university so we plan to help out in the area with strong research focuses it is difficult to attract larger research projects but there are some smaller companies that whatever way we have been able to work withcan. Our Environmental Department has been involved with doing some really neat testing for products that Initially it will be sold important to Kobalt do surveys and there are many studies on other projects taking place within our other departmentsuniversities that have accomplished similar goals.
As a Leadership Circle this One example that we have looked at is an area I think we could improve inDuke University, which has helped transform Durham over the years. The University has also invested capital into local education. To do this we will need A new elementary school, funded by Elon University, opened its doors for the first time to reach out to many students in the fall of the local companies to see what types 2018. Additionally, Elon Academy, apart of projects Elon's Center for Access and research they might need validated. Because we are such Success, is a small program that assists high school compared students in the area surrounding Elon. Elon Academy aims to schools like NC State there are some smaller projects that we could work on that would be very helpful aid families with financial need or families with little to those businesses. The first step for us will be getting involved with the Chamber of Commerceno history in college.&nbsp;</span>
