Nelson Fernandes is a student at Southern Illinois University Carbondale starting Fall 2018. Currently studying Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Energy Engineering with minors in Sustainability and Mathematics. Nelson hopes to accumulate knowledge from several fields ranging from Mechanical Engineering through coursework, CAD and renewable energy through professional training, Information Technology/Electrical through working at SalukiTech Service Center and Leadership/Industrial Management and Engineering through the Leadership Development Program. All in combination to produce an excellent individual with the capability to solve complex problems through multiple perspectives. Currently working towards creating a unified system for effectively communicating information across SIU's campus as well as revitalizing and modernizing SIu's Agriculture Building's Green Roof. In addition to being a hard worker, Nelson enjoys running and being with friends and family!
