Hython is a junior computer science student at Zhejiang University, and his Chinese name is Liu Yuanjian. He chose the non-formal English name due to his love for Python and Harry Potter.

During his first year and second years at Zhejiang University, he traveled to the United States for three different projects. Last winter, twenty students from Zhejiang University went to UC Davis for culture-oriented courses and communication. This summer, he visited many universities, including MIT, Harvard, Yale, UChicago, etc. as a Morningside Scholar. Just before the visiting trip, Hython attended the Harvard Summer School to learn developing mobile apps using C# and Xamarin. After the final presentation to his professor and a Microsoft manager, he won the "Best Project" award for the app serving the MBTA transportation system.

Hython is a member of QTech, one of the largest student organizations at Zhejiang University. He served as an Android engineer and a Web backend engineer in the technology team during his first two years in QTech. He developed some fundamental architectures to support the running of the Qtech mobile and participated in developing a project called Push Center, which is used to push messages, notifications to students' mobile app when required. In his second year, Hython developed a new hobby --- photography and worked in the photography department of QTech. He participated in several conferences photography and provided many aesthetically fantastic photos of natural sceneries.

Rising to his junior year, Hython joined the ARC lab following the guide of his tutor. He participated in the work with post-graduate students and is currently doing researches on data-quality improvement involving the popular frameworks of Kafka, Hadoop, and Spark.

In his spare time, Hython likes to travel to different places, recording the beauty of every tiny natural spot or humanistic fragrance. Also, he loves to do sports although the time is often not permitted. One of his favorite games is kickboxing, which he thinks reaches a balance of all muscle's strength. He said, "playing tennis makes your right arm much more massive than your left wing, I don't like that." Besides, he is a friendly man. He would love to meet new friends from different countries, different cities, and diverse backgrounds. By the way, if you ask his friends, they would say, Hython is a handsome boy!
