(Elementary Education) with a concentration in Spanish at the University of San Diego. She is originally from Sammamish, WA, and moved to San Diego to attend college. As an aspiring elementary school teacher, one of the most important things to know about Riley is that she is determined to work to develop the education system into a place that cultivates enthusiastic life-long learners who are equipped to participate in the world beyond school.

At the University of San Diego, Riley is a fellow in the Changemaker Hub. Her role specifically is the Changemaker Student Committee Coordinator, meaning she has the opportunity to plan and facilitate meetings that expose student committee members to different aspects of changemaking. It was through the Changemaker Hub at USD that she was exposed to the University Innovation Fellowship program.

On campus, Riley is passionate about providing students the opportunity to discover the meaning of changemaking and how to create sustainable impact in their communities. She also is a strong advocate for Human Centered Design and hopes to empower students to use that process to tackle social justice issues that they care about.

In her free time, Riley loves to try new outdoor activities like sailing, read and write, and dance! She hopes to incorporate creative writing and dance into her classroom teaching one day.
