University Innovation Fellow

I am a senior electrical engineering student from New York University Polytechnic School of Engineering. I specialize in wireless communications, digital signal processing, and database management. I worked as a product developer for a start-up company called Tactile Navigation Tools (TNT), based at the NYU Langone medical center in Manhattan. I currently work for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) as a Car Equipment analyst and database administrator. I’m also a member of several student chapters at the engineering school, such as, for instance, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Patent Pending— which is responsible to connect engineering students with new star-up ideas— and the National Association of Black Engineers (NSBE) and more importantly NYU-STARTUP which is a new chapter that connects and link all NYU students together. With this in mind, I get involved in different on campus networking activities and make sure that the majority of the students at my school take advantage of those activities as well by accentuating on their importance in the Polytechnic Reporter which is the newspaper outlet for the NYU Engineering School which I manage as its deputy managing editor. I speak four languages (French, creole, English and Spanish) but I’m only fluent in the first three. I play the piano and i am a member of a band. My goal as an engineer and a fellow member of the University Innovation fellowship is to revolutionize how students think of the concept of entrepreneurship, the idea of job and opportunity prospects, and then turn those students into the most marketable (based on what employers and university seek for) and open-minded thinker that they could ever be. Therefore, my ultimate goal as a fellow is to first, engineer my mind to the exact specifications of a perfect systematic learning and processing piece of an ensemble (University, family, community, country…) and then to influence those around me in order to create what I call the most talented problem solving group.
