Tanner John Gauthier is a student at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) who is studying Mechanical Engineering. Now a University Innovation Fellows (UIF) Candidate, he is extremely active on his campus and within his community. Besides being a brother and an Events Chair of the fraternity Tau Kappa Epsilon, Tanner is involved in Club Soccer, Club Lacrosse, the Student Alumni Society, the Student Support Network, and the Sophomore Success Program. In addition, he is currently working under a professor at WPI conducting research related to his major.

Originally from Chicopee, Massachusetts, Tanner graduated as valedictorian from his high school and has always had a curiosity for engineering. The potential that the field has to make an impact on the world is enormous, and he hopes that one day he can use the knowledge and skills that he has gained to leave his own mark on society. Determined and optimistic, Tanner believes that through WPI, programs like UIF, and the support of his peers and mentors, he will be able to change the world.
