Fellow:Meenu Singh
Meenu is a University Innovation Fellow (Spring 2014) and works full-time at UMD's Academy of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Student Design Team where she works to bring innovation and entrepreneurship into the classroom and making real-world, hands-on experiences the paradigm for learning. A recent graduate (Spring 2014) with a Civil Engineering degree and Philosophy minor at the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD), Meenu spearheaded the formation of the Academy in the Fall of 2013, Meenu as a group of 20+ students from all disciplines that employ design thinking to shape the I&E landscape at UMD. Prior to that, she served as Vice President of Academic Affairs for the Student Government Association, where she works to empower students to shape their academic experience. In addition, she worked to design UMD's "Finals App" mobile application to students on campus and established an SGA partnership with UMD's Mobile App Developers Club. Meenu is also a part of the QUEST Honors Fellows Program, a three-year, team-based interdisciplinary honors program that teaches innovation, quality management, and systems thinking to students from the schools of engineering, business,and computer and mathematical sciences. Meenu hopes to spend her time post-graduation working in the field of higher education, bringing innovation and entrepreneurship into the classroom and making real-world, hands-on experiences the paradigm for learning.
