Bio
Melissa Juarez is currently a Junior at Iona College, double majoring in Business Administration and Entrepreneurship. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, moved to New York in 2011, proud Mexican-American and obsessed with her Mexican Culture. First generation college student, oldest of three, sister to two younger sisters. Works as an Election Day Worker as a translator for those who speak Spanish. In the beginning of her Sophomore year became part of team and came up with an idea and is pursuing to make that idea become real. As well, as starting her own business that tackles the health and comfort of our pets. Credit of inspiration to her 10yr old chihuahua Coco. Connected to the Hynes Institute in the beginning of her Sophomore year and instantly decided to minor in Entrepreneurship, but as soon as it became a major instantly started to double major. Participated in the Iona Innovation competition with a nonprofit organization with a working title of "La Raza Vive." Created to assist the Latino community and provide them with everything they need in order to prepare themselves for when they can go out on their own and be proud of themselves.
