Cailin Shovkoplyas is the Communication Manager for the North Dakota Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research State Office. Originally from Federal Way, Washington, Shovkoplyas now lives in West Fargo, North Dakota, and is a doctoral student at North Dakota State University in the Department of Education. She has marketing and communication experience in both the public and private sectors and has a bachelor's degree from the University of Washington in Communication (Journalism), a professional certificate in Technical Writing from Bellevue College, and a master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Mary.
In addition to being a doctoral student, Shovkoplyas is an active volunteer at her local library and an officer of a local non-profit. She enjoys reading, learning Norwegian, and spending time with her family and pet cat.
