Adam Jansons is a PhD candidate studying chemistry at the University of Oregon. His life-long love affair with science began in elementary school after watching a science teacher demonstrate chemical reactions – by of course, blowing things up.He has been making his own explosions in lab ever since. He is a graduate of Western Washington University's Chemistry and Materials Science Department, graduating in 2011.Shortly after graduating from college and while working in industry, Adam discovered another source of excitement – entrepreneurship. It was during his time out of academia that he began to embrace what his employer stated daily: kaizen, or constant improvement. The belief that everything can be improved upon and made better. It is with this mindset that he comes into the University Innovation Fellow program. When not in lab, you will find this Eagle Scout enjoying the outdoors, either running, hiking, or skiing.
