He has taken part in and helped run 3 Day Startup at TTU, and attempted to get the computer science department to use an auto-grading system for programming assignments. He has also worked with the department to suggest a new elective course that would give students more hands-on problem solving experience.
He found his interest in I&E when working on a startup in India with a friend, where they did contract software development. Although the venture eventually failed, not only did he learn to code during that time, but he also picked up a number of management and design thinking skills that help him to this day.
His software experience includes game development, machine learning, data science, and working with the Linux kernel. He has interned at Microsoft and National Instruments. Next summer he will be in Seattle on Microsoft's Azure Machine Learning Studio team doing backend development. He is currently doing research on biometric user authentication using machine learningand wearable devices.
