Biomedical EngineeringKatie<span style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 18px;"> is a University of Virginia '16Innovation Fellow from the Spring 2015 cohort. She </span>is a international student from Sydney, Australia, born in China and spent most of her education at the American International School of Guangzhou before moving to the United States for college. Currently, she is a third year biomedical engineer with a focus on Entrepreneurship and minoring in engineering business.At UVa, Katie is the Vice President of Events on the Global Student Council and hopes to foster a more global university through organizing events such as the International Desserts Festival and various Ambassador Forums.<div><br/></div>Katie is passionate about innovation and medical device designing and is involved in several organizations and projects around grounds, such as Engineering Students without Borders and Biotrep. She is working with other students in creating devices such as the metered drinking device, activated carbon bandages and smart rollators.
