</parsererror> Gi West is a student at Michigan Technological University and is currently in their second year. They come from Manchester, MI, a small town in the middle of nowhere, where they worked at a small business and were involved with drama club and FIRST robotics. They are studying Mechanical Engineering with a hope to go into the Peace Corps and become a social entrepreneur.
At Tech, they were involved with many different organizations on campus including the pep band, mind trekkers, sound and lighting services, and MUB board. In their experience, they met so many great people who helped them grow and challenege themself. They gained leadership skills and began to practice design thinking skills while working in the Alley Makerspace. Currently, they are a Resident Assistant for the visual-performing arts community, the incoming Student Director of the Alley Makerspace, and a Manager of Sound and LIghting Services. They joined the UIF team because they saw things on campus they wanted to change and wanted to be a part of a community of visionaries.
When they aren't working, they love to run, write, draw, work with wood, 3D print, and hang out with friends and family.
