Fellow:Jennifer Winn

Jennifer Winn is a sophomore Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Dayton. She is a current member of the Women in Science and Engineering organization, as well as, the Society of Women Engineers on campus. During her senior year of high school, Winn established innovative National Honor Society projects that helped create a positive difference within her community. These projects ranged from establishing the first Teacher Appreciation Lunch-in to hand delivering valentine day cards to a local nursing home.

From establishing a passion for problem-solving, Winn knew she wanted to pursue a career that would allow her to continue identifying issues and discovering ways to improve life within her community. This desire led her to become a mechanical engineering student at the University of Dayton. Winn’s passion for innovation took off once she attended the engineering innovations class (EGR 103) which focused on problem-solving. Through developing a hurricane pet pack out of cardboard to a one-handed hand dryer stand, Winn knew that she chose the the perfect degree that allowed her pursue her passion. At the end of the semester Winn’s professor appointed her to become a UIF member. To this day, Winn continues to make a positive change on campus by identifying issues and figuring out ways to solve them.
