The Colorado School of Mines is a public research university of engineering and applied science in Golden, Colorado.

Promoting student innovation and entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship Club

The Entrepreneruship Club at mines is currently being restarted. The initial meeting showed ample support from students of all majors across campus. After seeing the initial support, steps are being taken by the faculty advisor to make the E-Club an official student organization which provides resources to make the club successful.

Encouraging faculty innovation and entrepreneurship

Several faculty members have separate businesses independent of the university. Overall encouraging faculty innovation and entrepreneurship is not a primary focus of the universty.

Actively supporting the university technology transfer function

The office of technology transfer does exist, and it has been used to commercialize PhD research.

Facilitating University-Industry Collaboration

Current collaboration exists between research groups and industry. These collaborations are primarily used to fund graduate students.
