Kayla Callaway is a University Innovation Fellow and undergraduate at Rowan University studying Physics and Biophysics. She works for the University as a Research Assistant doing molecular biophysics research as well as biomaterials research. She was selected for the 2016 Academic Year Fellowship award from the NASA New Jersey Space Grant Consortium for her research in antifreeze proteins.

Kayla is Vice President and founding member of Rowan's Women Inspiring a New Generation of Scientists and is very enthusiastic about women in STEM as well as business and entrepreneurship. She is passionate about social and environmental justice and practices a vegan lifestyle. In her spare time, she enjoys working at an assisted living home where she takes pride in being able to give back to the elderly. She is passionate about encouraging interdisciplinary learning and motivating others to take initiative. Kayla dreams of one day starting a business aligned with her personal values to make a difference in the world.
