Emily Klonicki is a microbiology undergraduate student at the University of Pittsburgh. She has conducted research at the University of Pittsburgh and is currently working on epigenetics in Toxoplasma gondii and developing economic microbial fuel cells as a power source for developing nations. She has completed a startup accelerator program through the University of Pittsburgh and pitch competitions at the Innovation Institute. Her experience with the Innovation Institute has given her insight into business and entrepreneurship. All of this work has led to a passion for research and sustainable and economic development. In her free time, Emily enjoys being outdoors and playing soccer.
