Stephen Kender is a freshman Plastics Engineering major at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. A member of the Honors College, he currently has a 3.64 GPA and has made the Dean's List. Stephen has had an freshman year full of things to do; he is a member of the Pre-Law Society's Mock Trial team, and won multiple awards at entrepreneurial competitions for his creation of KEnDERS Athletic Body Armor. He is an Eagle Scout and volunteers often as an "Open Space Steward" in his hometown of Chelmsford, MA, keeping public property in good condition at no cost to the town.


After graduating, he hopes to become a biomedical engineer, working to design and develop the next generation of prosthetic devices.


As a freshman, Stephen is also a candidate to become a University Innovation Fellow representing UMass Lowell in a national engineering entrepreneurship program run by VentureWell.
