At the University of Nebraska-Omaha, Marissa has held leadership positions in Lambda Theta Nu Sorority, Inc., as the Multicultural Greek Council Representative and Social Chair. She has also had the privilege of co-founding the Association of Latino Professional For America (ALPFA) Chapter at UNO. And just recently Marissa was elected into Student Government where she serves as the Arts and Sciences Senator.
In 2020, Marissa began her internship within the Health Care Access and the Economic Justice Programs at Nebraska Appleseed. She is eager to be able to work with community leaders and advocate for policy that fits the need of all Nebraskans. As Marissa gets closer to graduation, her goal is to get her masters in Public Administration and continue to work in local government.
