Jaime Arribas Starkey-El is currently a junior Engineering Physics honor student at Morgan State University. He is the president of the Society of Physics Students (SPS) and a very active member of several honor societies. He is also a member of the Honda All-Star college bowl team at Morgan. Jaime has spent a significant amount of time doing Physics research in the Dixon lab at Morgan, researching topological insulators and assisting in the development of novel magnetic metal oxide thin films for magnetic device applications. During an internship at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Jaime created a bonding test to measure the static force behavior of epoxy bonds in satellite modules in order to determine optics distortion. As a result of his diligent work, Jaime had his internship extended and was nominated as a NASA student ambassador.
