University Advanced Standing Consists of lectures presented by guest speakers on current business topics concerning the student, community, nation, business world, etc. The Executive Lecture series is a weekly dialog between academia and industry.

Silicon Slopes Lecture Series

In this three-part workshop series with James Brown, you will learn how to conceptualize, plan, and build a prototype for your product (hardware or software) or concept. Industry experts will lead you through the process, step by step, and you will network with business owners who run fabrication labs and manufacturing facilities.

Career Passport

Career Passport is a program made to assist students in finding their career. They offer networking events, lecture series, career advice, interviewing tips, and access to personality tests. You can also register for their class and submit assignments on UVU's learning portal called Canvas. There are prize drawings and rewards at every event. Career Passport can help with "Major" decisions and provide key insights for the tech industry.

CAL Masterminds

The Center for Social Impact develops active citizens who make social impact in our communities. We do so through curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular student experiences in diverse pathways of social impact including direct service, community-engaged learning and research, social entrepreneurship and corporate social responsibility, policy and governance, community organizing and activism, and philanthropy. Our framework is founded on two nationally-recognized models.

Developed in 2010 by Stanford University's Haas Center for Public Service, these pathways describe a range of possibilities by which we can make a contribution to the common good. The pathways intersect and overlap, demonstrating the interdependent nature inherent in working toward the common good. Internship services works with individual students to identify their passions and helps create matching internships with external organizations. Internship Services has worked with Academic Affairs to ensure that students working in internships receive credit that counts towards graduation. Due to this approach, students have the opportunity to bi-pass the traditional “go to class, do homework, get degree” mentality and instead construct an invigorating and experiential academic experience.
