Tyler Higgins is currently a sophomore Accounting major an University Innovation Fellow at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. Tyler works with the [http://epicenter.stanford.edu/ Epicenter at Stanford University] and [http://venturewell.org/ Venturewell] (formerly NCIIA) to expand the Innovation and Entrepreneurship ecosystem on campus. Tyler came to Furman by way of TC Roberson High School in Asheville, North Carolina. In high school, Tyler enjoyed defying stereotypes as both an athlete and a “mathlete,” leading the Roberson Rams football team to consecutive conference championships and representing the Rams at local, state, and regional mathematics competitions. At Furman, Tyler hopes to continue breaking barriers as part of a burgeoning campus movement advocating for the development of an innovative and entrepreneurial campus ecosystem.
Tyler brings a wealth of experience in innovation and entrepreneurship… just kidding, Tyler’s experience is limited to a handful of conversations and a perusal of the UIF website. Admittedly, he’s a newcomer to the innovation and entrepreneurship conversation in higher education, but he believes his passion for new challenges and his commitment to creating more engaging and active learning environments make him well suited for the task at hand.
