<span style="font-size:larger;"> Students are not the only focus of promoting innovation on campus; the university actively encourages faculty members to pursue innovation. As a Research 1 university, the University of Cincinnati takes great pride in its innovative, curious, and creative faculty. UC offers grant writing services to researchers in order to promote entrepreneurial and innovative research, and the university also has positions for entrepreneurs in residence and an endowed chair in entrepreneurship. Several colleges within the University of Cincinnati also offer research grants that faculty within each college are able to apply for.</span>

<span style="font-size:larger;"> The University of Cincinnati invented the concept of co-operative education in 1906 and has been working with hundreds of partners in the industry ever since. Students earn a collective $65 million annually from 6,000 placements across the United States and the world in fields ranging from Aerospace Engineering to Industrial Design to Finance. In addition to full length coopsco-ops, there are the university now shorter offers micro coops co-ops that connect students with industry partners to collaborate on a project short termproject.</span>

<span style="font-size:larger;"> The University of Cincinnati is strongly connected with local Innovation and Entrepreneurship infrastructure. The Cincinnati Innovation District, an ecosystem of thinkers, researchers, students, and industry is poised to become an innovation hub for the Midwest and will be closely partnered with the university to produce $2bn in research, 20k jobs, and $3b 3bn in annual economic impact. The University of Cincinnati is one of the largest employers in the Greater Cincinnati area and, as a result, is a strong driver of economic development in local communities. The university continues to grow through the installation of the Digital Futures building. By bringing in companies focused on leveraging innovation, the university propagates a collaboration between students and CID partners.</span>
