Karuna Relwani is a senior at the University of Pittsburgh majoring in Bioengineering with a Certificate in Engineering for Humanity. She is the co-founder of Engineers for Sustainable Medical Development (ESMD). This student organization connects undergraduate engineering and pre-health students who desire to gain design experience, funding, and resources to build low-cost, high-impact health care products with physicians and researchers with clinical needs. Karuna is currently an undergraduate researcher for UPitt as well as CMU and has been an active University Innovation Fellow since 2012.
