Strategy #1: 3 Day Startup Springboard Event

Tactic #1: Student Awareness of Innovation

The Springboard event will provide a fantastic opportunity for students to learn about the resources and events for innovation and entrepreneurship on our campus. Resources and events such as the TEDx UW-Milwaukee series, the business plan circuit, numerous student organizations, classes to take for credit, and certificates rewarding students for their hard work. Milestones:

  • Market the following events throughout the 3DS Springboard event: 4/13/14 - 4/19/14
  • TEDx UWM October ?th 2014
  • Student Startup Challenge deadline to apply: ??/??
  • New Venture Business Plan Competition opens: ??/??
  • Scheinfeld Entrepreneurial Awards Competition: ??/??

Tactic #2: Laying groundwork for idea formulation and team building

With students experiencing team building first hand by quickly working through ideas in one weeks time, they will be able to walk away with valuable experience for the future. It may be valuable for them building their own businesses or helping others in another startup. Milestones:

Tactic #3: Lasting impact: just the beginning of annual events

Our university will view the 3DS Springboard event as a learning experience to sponsor future events with the same mission: provide students with moonshot ideas, allow them to quickly form a team, work as a team to solve true problems. Milestones:

  • Unlock UW-Milwaukee for other 3DS activities on their website: 5/1/14
  • Plan annual idea hackathon events: 5/1/14
  • Announce the next event!: 8/1/14 (Prior to Fall semester starting)
