Sam is currently a junior studying biochemistry at William Jewell College. While not in the lab trying to get her bacteria to grow, she works part-time at the local movie theater. In her spare time (that rarely exists) she likes watching movies, reading, trying new food, and playing Exploding Kittens. She is the founder and president of her school's oSTEM chapter (Out in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) which is focused on the needs and experiences of LGBTQ+ people in STEM fields.
