Mary McGee I became a UIF in fall 2016 at Southern Illinois University. During her my time there, she I was able to create a resource guide for first-generation college studentsas well as help re-vamp the UIF program at SIU. Mary also I worked with and mentored the 2018 cohort of UIFs at SIU. Mary graduated before graduating in May 2019 with a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. Throughout her my time at SIU, Mary I discovered her my love for mentoring and supporting college students, which led to her me pursuing a master's degree at Colorado State University studying Student Affairs in Higher Education (expected May 2021). Mary is I am currently working with UIFs at CSU to create a mentorship program that better supports first and second-year studentsas they transition to college and find what they're passionate about studying. Mary is I am also passionate about social justice, most specifically equity and inclusionwithin higher education. Once she graduates I graduate with her my master's, Mary hopes I hope to continue working as a student affairs professional to change and improve the higher education system while creating inclusive environments that support students with marginalized identities. </span></span>
