<span style="font-size:medium;">NASA AMES Research center today is the leader in nanotechnology, information technology, fundamental space biology, biotechnology, thermal protection systems, and human factors research. Originally a center for Aeronautics, NASA AMES was the center for any and all developments in flight regimes in the 1960’s and 70’s. AMES has now turned into one of the main hubs for NASA to excel and achieve new heights when it comes to the development and implementation of new research.</span>
<span style="font-size:medium;">Key goals of NASA AMES are to maintain expertise in information technology, aerospace and aeronautics research and engineering, Conduct research in space, Earth, lunar and biological sciences, Develop lead status for NASA in small spacecraft missions, Expand public and private partnerships, Contribute innovative, high performance and reliable exploration technologies.</span>
<span style="font-size:medium;">Core areas of experise include, entry systems, advanced computing and IT systems, aerosciences, air traffic management, astrobiology and life science, cost-effective space missions, intelligent/adaptive systems and space and Earth science.</span>
<span style="font-size:medium;">Current missions that NASA AMES is involved in are Kepler, Curiosity Rover and the International Space Station.
