<span style="font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:medium;">Brad Turner is a second-third year software engineering student at [[Michigan Tech|Michigan Technological University]], and currently works part-time as a graphic designer for Student Activities, Housing, and Residential Life at the University. After serving as a councilor at a summer youth leadership camp, he realized his passions lie in working with students and plans on applying to graduate school for student affairs and development after graduating in 2017. He spent this last summer away is originally from his hometown, Bay City, MI, to experience a season without snow smaller town in Houghton, MI doing graphic design work and preparing to serve as the Marketing Chair for the student programming boardlower Michigan, as well as the Vice President growing up just outside of Communications for the Honors InstituteBay City. He also spent time preparing to help develop incoming students has always been involved in the community and giving back as an Orientation Team Leader far as well as a teaching assistant for a leadership class for the Fall 2014 semesterhe can remember.&nbsp;</span></span>
<span style="font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size:medium;"></span></span><span style="font-size: medium; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;">As a University Innovation Fellow, he discovered a way to combine his love of creativity and design with giving back to the community. At Tech, he is involved in the realm of student affairs doing graphic design work to promote student events as well as mentoring other students on the programming board. He also spends time working with the Pavlis Honors College, serving on the student advisory board and working on projects through the Scholars and Leaders program.</span>
<span style="font-size: medium; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif;"></span><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: medium;">His experience as a camp counselor and Orientation Team Leader have expanded his passion for working with students and creating meaningful activities and events.</span>
<span style="font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif; font-size: medium;"></span><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size:medium;">Last yearAt Michigan Tech, as he has worked on creating a first-year student organization focusing on campuscreativity, design thinking, and innovation, he became involved in many different activities and made a much larger impact planned and facilitated events on campus than he ever would have imagined. He developed marketing campaigns for on campus These eventsinclude, attended the Leadershape Conference in Januarybut are not limited to, #uifresh activities during orientation, a makerspace design thinking session, and was quickly elected for executive positions many smaller in multiple student groups-class workshops. As a result, these groups have seen increased event attendanceTo share his lover for creativity and design thinking, positive brand recognition and a greater sense of community within their members. Off of campus he spent time is working with start-up companies the Michigan Tech Center for Science and Environmental Outreach to develop application mockbuild and run an after-ups school class for middle schoolers focused on discovering creative confidence and inspiring creativity and work flows to push them into various prototyping stagesmaking.</span></span>
  <span style="font-family:verdana,geneva,sans-serif; font-size: medium;"></span><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size:medium;">When not giving back to Tech, or workingon homework, Brad spends his time outdoors. Depending on the season, he can be found kicking a soccer ball around with some friends watching The Walking Dead, discussing Harry Potter, or carving down plotting how to take over the slopes of Mont Ripley on his skisUniversity with creativity and design thinking. He also enjoys capturing the beauty of the world around him through photographyspending time outdoors with his camera, hiking, and spends the not-so-nice days inside editing and uploading those photos to share with the rest of the world.
