Luke Atticus Kennard grew up He was raised in a home where both parents taught him the importance of that valued curiosity, creativity through art, good music, nature, and innovatingexploration. His mom would often take him on hikes and teach mother taught him about nature, birds , and plantsduring long hikes, while his dad would help him with father fueled his love for innovation through science experiments or creative projects some of which included a and hands-on projects—from lemon battery and a hover craftbatteries to hovercrafts. This foundation shaped Luke is into a real critical thinker who loves to solve enjoys solving complex problems. His drive is coming up with simple , people-centered solutions to real needs people have.
Luke Atticus Kennard married the Ashley Belnap, a fellow University Innovation Fellow and kindred creative spirit. Together, they share a love of his lifefor innovation, Janessa Furnessfamily, on May 25th 2016 and since that day life has never been dullservice. She has inspired him to reach his goals just as much as he has supported her Their journey is grounded in her endeavors. During the summer of 2017 they went to Boanefaith, Mozambique on an internship to support the lovely African people there. While therecuriosity, they formed a foundation of service and faith for their future family. Since then Luke achieved his life long dream of becoming a pilot and used his pilot's certificate shared commitment to get a dream job flying drones in the unmanned aircraft industry. Luke works using their talents for Loveland Innovations testing out their autonomous flying software. On a daily basis you can find him flying a drone anywhere throughout Utah Valleygood.
Luke has loved his formal education is a proud father, an FAA-certified pilot, and he continues to study hard at Utah Valley University as a Technology Management Major and is on track to graduate Spring 2019passionate technologist. University Innovation Fellows has given Luke the opportunity to share He once lived out his innovative passions with his fellow students and faculty champions. Some childhood dream of flying by working in the projects he has or is activly working on include: UVU 2018 Landscape Canvasunmanned aircraft industry, testing autonomous drone systems for Loveland Innovations. He later pivoted into real estate and land development, The Innovation Incubatorhelping families, Touring UVU (a VR tour of UVU)investors, UVUIF club CIT (Cheif Innovation Officer)and communities build meaningful futures.
While earning his degree in Technology Management at Utah Valley University (Class of 2019), Luke and Janessa now have made a son, Atticus John Kennard, born in April 2018lasting mark through the University Innovation Fellows program. Both Luke He led and Janessa are implementing design thinking in their home. They have set up a maker space in their laundry room for rapid protoyping. Atticus has already attended his first Regional Meetup hosted by contributed to projects such as the UVU where he meet KatieLandscape Canvas, Humerathe Innovation Incubator, and others. He is Touring UVU (a future Innovation fellowVR campus tour), and proudly wears his future UIF onzie whenever he can, thanks to Laurie!co-founded the UVUIF club CIT (Chief Innovation Team).
He continues to blend design thinking into all areas of life—whether in his family’s creative “maker space,” in his entrepreneurial ventures, or in the way he mentors others.
