I’m a junior at Duke University, where I’m double majoring in Computer Science and Psychology. I grew up in a small town in Iowa, which is what caused me to start questioning what causes youth to see and not see themselves as changemakers. Much of my work has centered around educational equity and amplifying student voices, which has shaped my current interest in the intersection of youth development, wellbeing, democracy, data science, psychology, and technology. I’m particularly passionate about creating spaces for young people to recognize their power, step into their agency, and experience the healing and transformative power of changemaking work. I’ve also developed a passion for responsible technology and technology policy, particularly as it concerns young people’s wellbeing and our democratic processes. I’m also honored to be a 2022 Coca-Cola Scholar and Robertson Leadership Program scholar, which has allowed me to grow as a leader.
