James Siedschlag is an incoming Junior Mechanical Engineering at MSOE. Following his experience as a founding member of a robotics team in high school, he has been passionate about engineering and STEM education. When he isn't working on a project for his college level robotics teams, he can often be found volunteering for local FIRST robotics teams and events to help share the experience that set him down the path which he is so very excited to be on.

Going back to the very start of my high school experience, I made it a point to make as many connections and get as many experiences as I could. I would say I was successful as I participated in almost every club in some way. Clubs like Forensics and FBLA, and drama helped me to learn how to be confident and outgoing; however, the most impactful experience was being a founding member of our robotics team. The unique experience of starting a team allowed me to acquire a taste for leadership and the entrepreneurial spirit that has driven many of my choices up to this point. Additionally, I gained confidence in my engineering abilities and a passion to use them to make a difference. I led my team as the president of engineering for the following two years and continue to serve as a mentor for them. Every year after we started I have also spent time volunteering for events and helping teams so others can find a path like the one that I'm so excited to be on!

Bio

Hi! I'm James Siedschlag, an incoming Junior Mechanical Engineering student at MSOE. I come from Manitowoc, Wisconsin along the coast of Lake Michigan.

Despite the workload in college and the unique circumstances of starting in 2020, I continue to participate in robotics and maintain active leadership roles in multiple clubs. UIF stands for the values which I aspire to and I look forward to making a difference on campus!
