Using input from across the country, the NAE identified 14 areas in need of engineering sol</span><span style="background-color: transparent; font-size: 10pt; white-space: pre-wrap; text-indent: 36pt;">utions in the 21st century. Within these 14 areas, the GCSP developed a combined, co-, and extra-curricular program that is intended to prepare the next generation of students to address the challenges within society. The GCSP is an outcomes-based program that is designed to inspire a movement within the participants local ecosystem. The goal is to pilot innovative educational approaches for engineering students and encourage students to engage with a diverse group of their peers from across the globe to solve the challenges that are crucial for the survival of generations to come.</span></span></span>
