Garry Jean-Pierre moved to the United States in 2011 to pursue his passion for electrical engineering. He currently attends UW-Milwaukee where he is actively involved in the WiscAMP scholar program, tutors for the College of Engineering and Science, and serves as a program representative to UW-Milwaukee's student government. Upon graduation, Garry plans to continue his education and work towards his master's degree.

Academic Involvement:

WISCAMP Scholar:Participant in program designed to encourage involvement in STEM; Attended Biomedical Conference at Harvard - April 2014; Collaborated with other students on Interstellar Travel Challenge Project. Designed and developed a robotic prototype which could be used for planet exploration and sample collection and  identification - Jan 2014; Worked with faculty mentors on a research project to explore solutions to the global water crisis - Jan 2015. Participant in multiple other hands-on learning experiences.

Volunteer Tutor for College of Engineering and Applied Science: Computer Programming 201 -Introduction to Computer Programming in Java; Math 105 - Intermediate Algebra; Math 116 - College Algebra; Math 117 - Trigonometry; Math 231 - Calculus I; Math 232 - Calculus II; EE234 - Analytical Method in Engineering

Electrical Engineering Program RepresentativeServe as the bridge between the StudentAssociation's Academic Senators and students in electrical engineering program.  Report the needs and concerns of classmates to the Student Association in an effort to make legislation and much-needed changes happen within academic programs.
