==Bio==
Gurvinder is a driven Mechanical and Mechatronic engineer who uses every learning experience to push him towards a future where he can help others through engineering. He believes that education is the ultimate tool to empower those in need and propagates this through his role '''Serving as a UTS U@UNI equity ambassador, dedicated to providing students from a disadvantaged or refugee background expand their horizons in entering university.UIF Since:''' 2020
Gurvinder is also part '''School:''' University of the UTS: Motorsports Electric Team, engaging with engineering principles as a Chassis and Driveline engineer to help build a Formula 3 style race car. He is interested in fields such as Finite Element Analysis and functional product design in complex environments. He is looking to expand his skills in the mechatronics and programming space to complement his mechanical engineering skills.Technology Sydney (Australia)
Having grown up in western Sydney, away from the opportunities '''Degree:''' Bachelor of Mechanical and industry exposure offered closer to the CBD, Gurvinder built his way up by propagating his passions into reality and finding learning opportunities far beyond what he could have imagined as Mechatronic Engineering with a highschool student. He hopes that through the UIF program, he can inspire a similar change Diploma in others by helping students 'starting from zero' connect to experiences and gain exposure for learning and growthProfessional Engineering Practice.
<br '''What he does now:''' Gurvinder is currently an Engineering Cadet with Sydney Metro '''What that means:''' This means Gurvinder is contributing to the development of the new metro transport systems being built in Sydney, Australia. He is specifically focussing on the signalling and communications systems that connect the network and facilitate autonomous control of trains. '''Contact him about:''' Anything engineering related! No question is too big or too small for him to answer (or at least try to answer). If its nerdy, he's a fan. Gurvinder also loves working with systems or initiatives that closely integrate/>interact with people e.g. facilitating collaboration, creating experiences or forging new connections. Overall, reach out to him about anything and he would be more than happy to help! If he can't find you the answer, he will find you someone who can.  Gurvinder has finished his degree in Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering in Autumn (Fall, but in Australia ;P) of 2023. Having found an interest in working with people through various experiences in his degree, Gurvinder now has a passion or working with people-facing systems and trying to improve people's lives using an engineering mindset. He is most passionate about connecting those 'starting from zero' to opportunities and experiences that help them learn and grow. During the Innovation Fellows program, Gurvinder worked closely with key decision makers to provide a student voice in the faculty at his university. From here, Gurvinder hopes to inspire the next generation of UIFs to create more impactful change as the program has been restarted at his university for the first time since 2020.
