The University Innovation Fellows are part of a national movement to ensure that students gain the necessary attitudes, skills and knowledge required for them to compete in the economy of the future. These student leaders from schools around the country work with their peers to catalyze even greater levels of innovation and entrepreneurship activity on their campuses.

The program is run by Hasso Plattner Institute of Design (d.school) at Stanford University. The program was created as part of the National Center for Engineering Pathways to Innovation (Epicenter), funded by the National Science Foundation from 2011 to 2016 and directed by Stanford University and VentureWell. What's Your Moonshot?

The original "Moonshot" was just that.  Man daring to go where no man had gone before- the moon.  As a species we did not have the technology or the know how to step foot on the moon and yet through ingenuity and dedication two countries started a race to accomplish just that. Moonshot Thinking is exactly what it sounds like, taking a seemingly impossible task and setting out to accomplish it.  Mark Twain had a great quote about accomplishing such feats, “Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.”  Being a Fellow is a unique opportunity in that many of us have our own “Moonshots” and by surrounding ourselves with others that are just as passionate about their Moonshots we can set out to change the world.

What's Your Moonshot?

Where in the World are the University Innovation Fellows?
