Chen is currently working on his doctorate on computer engineering at University of Iowa with academic focus on medical imaging. He has involved in multiple projects in collaborations with medical professionals. He's glad that his work helps doctors make diagnosis and patients heal faster. Before joining UI fellow, he is already a student ambassador at John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center (JPEC) of University of Iowa. Chen believes entrepreneurship is the best way to make technology better, cheaper and more accessible to everybody.

Chen also likes working with kids. He is also state cooridinator for UNICEF projects at Iowa United Nations Association, where he is able to reinforce his international identity and engage Iowa globally. His favorite project is Trick-Or-Treat for UNICEF which enables kids help kids.
