Garry Jean-Pierre is a University Innovation Fellow from the Spring 2015 cohort. Garry moved to the United States in 2011 from his home country of Haiti to pursue his passion for electrical engineering. Prior to relocating to the U.S, Garry taught middle school and served as the school's financial officer. He organized community-wide acitivites and mentored students in their academic and innovative endeavors. He currently attends UW-Milwaukee where he is actively involved in the WiscAMP scholar program, tutors for the College of Engineering and Science, and will be serving as a program representative to UW-Milwaukee's Student Association. Upon graduation, Garry plans to continue his education and earn his master's degree in engineering with a specialization in power electronics.
