Kyler Schuman is a University Innovation Fellow and undergraduate Mechanical Engineering student at University of Portland (UP). Kyler is originally from the Seattle area and would like to eventually create and run his own engineering firm in his home town. Beginning in high school, he developed a love for robotics and the idea that something can be created by humans to do something for all of humanity. He hopes to harness the passion he has for robotics in order to make a positive impact on humankind at some point in his life.

Kyler is a member of the University of Portland UIF cohort that is currently working to bring design thinking into the core curriculum at UP, which will hopefully create a campus-wide push for innovation.
