While He has tried to play an active role in the campus community while working towards his B.S. in Computer Science Ellery has maintained an active role on campus trying to get and taking full advantage of the most out of a rich liberal arts educationenvironment at Beloit. An avid Graphicgraphic/Web Designer web designer and Musician this vision for him includes tying musician, Ellery has worked to bring together both the arts and the sciences and taking full advantage of the wide range of talents and skills available at Beloit College. He has also been a strong proponent of social entrepreneurship working on projects like professor Rama Viswanathan's Ph.D. [http://www.beloit.edu/news/sources/?story_id=349543 "Wallputer".] An inexpensive solar-powered computer with dedicated client software that can also serve as an information kiosk, announcement display, or message board designed for communities in developing countries. Ellery also spent this last summer exploring the tech entrepreneurship scene in Chicago while working for Chicago Mayor Rahm Emmanuel. Where he helped research start-ups in Chicago all his curricular and facilitate events like [http://techweek.com/chicago/ Tech-Week] in Chicago's tech-entreprenuership hub [http://www.1871.com/ 1871]extracurricular activities.
In the process, he’s drawn everything he could from the wide range of talents and skills present within the Beloit community. Ellery's main goals goal as a UI Fellow are would be to focus and bring together the large amounts of talent copious talents and recourses resources available at Beloit College. He believes with these assets, and in combination with the strategic location of Beloit College from , between the established and rapidly growing entrepreneurship communitiesin Chicago, Milwaukee and Madison, represent a real opportunity for the college, its students, faculty and alumni, he will be able as well as for the Beloit community at large. He hopes to help make a lasting and sustainable change that will be seen in contribution to both the local community and the greater Midwest. Together , together with the other UI Fellows he hopes to see this change have a lasting effect nationally , create an impact regionally and ultimately internationallybeyond.
