'''About Nitya Kanuri'''

Nitya Kanuri is a University Innovations Fellow and a graduate student studying business and healthcare at Yale School of Management and Yale School of Public Health. She has spent the last 6 years in the field of digital mental health. As a researcher in Stanford's Behavioral Medicine Lab, I studied how technology can increase access to mental healthcare by decreasing barriers like stigma and cost. I spent 2 years in India delivering online anxiety programs to university students (manamaali.org). I spent the last 2 years working in startups - in partnership development at Crisis Text Line and biz ops at BetterUp - delivering mental healthcare at scale. I earned a bachelor's degree in Biological Basis of Behavior from the University of Pennsylvania.
At Yale, Nitya is co-president of the School of Management's Startup & Entrepreneurship Club and on the student advisory board for the on-campus innovation hub Tsai CITY. These roles and interests overlap with her UIF team's cross-campus initiative to initiative to lower the barriers for students to push creativity in the classroom to creation outside of it. The central question to these endeavors has been, "How might we build a welcoming, playful, and supportive community, in which entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs, early-stage company employees, and anyone who self-identifies as a creator can learn new skills, share their skills, seek and provide feedback, and build community?"
I enjoy spending any spare time I have getting messy in nature with friends or throwing pizza-making parties.
